Sauze D'Oulx, Italy

Brother James, cousin Nigel and myself went to Sauze D'Oulx, Italy 18/01/2004 - 25/01/2004 for snowboarding holiday. This was the second time to Sauze for James and me.

This is the fifth year of snowboarding for my brother and me. The first day we flew to Turin and got on the coach for 1 1/4 hour transfer to resort. It was snowing when we arrived and was told it had been snowing the last couple days. We arrived mid afternoon, and immediately explored the resort. We collected our boards / boots from the hire shop.

The first day of boarding, the weather was fine and sunny and bright. We decided to go up the Sportinia lift and take Red run 11 (see Piste Map below), the fresh powder was excellent.

We then went up the second Clotes chairlift and came down, me and Nigel on the black run 33, James down the red run. During the week, we did runs 11 (from top), 29, 2000, 2002, 15 & 52. On the last day, I did the black run 15, which actually wasn't too bad.

Apres Ski

The Apres Ski in Sauze was quite lively. Monday night was bar crawl night organised by the reps. Most of the week was spent in Paddy McGinty's a traditional Irish pub in the middle of Italy! On the Wednesday, James and Nigel went to Turin to see the Juventus / Parugia football match. I stayed in Paddy's!
